Dr Clara McSwiney is highly trained an all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in treating nervous and anxious patients and root canal treatments. She is dedicated to providing anxiety-free dentistry to her patients in order to help them achieve their dental goals with ease.
Dr McSwiney completed her undergraduate studies in Cork, Ireland and holds a Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, London.
She actively enhances her education and training by attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Outside of work she is married with two children, with interests in travelling and reading.
Dr Simon Darfoor is a graduate of Guy's Dental Hospital, London. Professionally he has completed a Diploma in Implant Dentistry, the Gold standard for Dental Implantology in the UK.
He is a graduate of the prestigious Misch Implant Institute, is a Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantology, a member of the Association of Dental Implantology. Dr. Darfoor has given numerous lectures on Implant dentistry and presents numerous hands-on training programs including live surgical demonstrations on the topics of dental implants and advanced periodontal therapies including regenerative techniques. He is also a clinical advisor and mentor to a leading dental implant company and regularly publishes articles in the dental press.
Dr. Darfoor has furthered his expertise in Cosmetic Dentistry through hundreds of hours of additional continuing education. He has accomplished this by attending seminars geared specifically to the improvement of all aspects of Cosmetic Dentistry, and actively researches improvements in procedures and techniques.
His goal is to deliver the best dental care in a relaxing, comfortable environment. With his expertise he is well suited to deliver optimum results in Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry.
Dr Kuljeet Mehta is registered with the General Dental Council as a specialist in Periodontics.
He qualified in 1992 and since then has gained extensive experience in oral surgery working in several of the UK's leading hospitals. It was during this period that he passed the Fellowship in Dental Surgery examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDS RCS).
In the period 2000-2003 he underwent his three years specialist training in Periodontology at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Whitechapel, London. He completed the newly created Master of Clinical Dentistry Degree in Periodontology and at the end of 2003 passed examinations to obtain The Diploma of Membership in Restorative Dentistry from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Mehta has held several hospital posts, including the Honorary Clinical Lecturer/Specialist Trainee and Associate Specialist in Restorative Dentistry (Periodontology) at St Bartholomew's and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Whitechapel, London.
As a periodontist, he is trained to help patients with the treatment and complications associated with periodontal (gum) diseases.
Dr Claudia Bortolaia was born in Italy and graduated with honours in Dentistry in 1999 at the University of Pisa, Italy. Soon after she started dedicating herself only to Paedodontics and Orthodontics, continuously attending courses to improve her knowledge and skills and remain up to date on the developments in the field. In 2000 she was granted a scholarship to attend a post-graduate course at the Royal Dental College at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, under the direction of the world-wide known Prof. Birthe Melsen.
After her return to Italy, Dr Bortolaia started an internship in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Siena, Italy. Her orthodontic training there enabled her to work on patients belonging to every age group and walk of life.
In January 2006 she moved to London for family reasons. Dr Bortolaia has published several articles in Italian and international dental journals in collaboration with academics and practitioners and worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Pisa.
She joined our practice in 2007 and is an integral part of our practice.
